SUBTERRANEA SYSTEMS is proud to announce its first open call, “UPWARD SPIRAL”, the inaugural issue to be published digitally and in print on 6/21/2025.

THEME: The old world is dying, and a new one struggles to be born. We are the doulas. This issue focuses on the flowers and fungi growing through the skeleton of a dying world, bringing with them new, stranger, more beautiful forms of living.

Submissions close May 15th, 2025.

All modalities of creativity are welcomed. Music and film will have a home online, released over the course of the summer. Photos, static art pieces, and prose will be printed.
